Hmong couples will have the opportunity to learn how to identify what they want out of marriage and how to communicate those wants effectively during Together We Can: Marriage and the Hmong Culture, a daylong workshop Saturday, April 18, at Horace Mann Middle School, 3101 N. 13th St., Wausau.
Couples will learn how to apply and increase the use of healthy communication skills in their relationship. The workshop will be presented in Hmong and will focus on issues that directly affect Hmong couples who are trying to retain their traditional values while embracing the American way of life.
Through role playing and coaching, couples will gain insight into making their relationship stronger. Couples will learn listening, communication and problem-solving skills so they can better identify both their spouse’s strengths and their own.
The workshop is free and includes all class materials, lunch and refreshments. Door prizes will be given at the end of the workshop. For more information contact Ham Tao at 212-2202 or Qhua Vang at 574-0297.
