Tou Xiong, Chair for the Lao Family Social Services, said the event will go on next year

Farmington, MN --- Lao Family Social Services held its 1st Annual event, “Summer Sports Tournament & Festival” at Dakota Fairground in Farmington, MN on June 29th through July 1st, 2012.
The Lao Prince Sauriyvong Savang from France opened and cut the ribbon ceremony at the event on June 29, 2012.
Tou Xiong, Chair for the Lao Family Social Services said that based on door tickets sold and counted at the entry gate, there were an estimate of about 5,000 to 15,000 spectators at the event each day.

“Besides the sports competitions, there were a total of 13 contestants who took part in the Miss Hmong Teen Pageant,” said Tou Xiong.
Tou Xiong said that the location for the event next year is not known, but the Lao Family Social Services plans to continue to host the event for many years to come. Tou continued saying that the Lao Prince had mentioned that he and his family are willing to come back to participate in the event next year if the Lao Family Social Services hosts the event again.
